Actor John Saxon has died at the age of 83 due to Pneumonia in his Murfreesboro Home in Tennessee,his wife conferred to The Hollywood Reporter. He was best known for his role in Western and Horror films. He had done over 200 films and hundreds of shows to his credits.
Saxon’s major titles are Enter The Dragon with Bruce Lee which was the first mainstream American movie on Martial artist-actor. He was also nominated for Golden Globes as the best Supporting actor for `A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Appaloosa in which he starred opposite Hollywood Actor Marlon Brando. In 1958, he received the Golden Globe for the most promising newcomer male for the films Rock, Pretty Baby , Summer Love and The Reluctant Debutante.
He is also credited on the small screen in Western Series such as Gunsmoke, The Virginia , Action drama series Starsky and Hutch, superhero series Wonder Woman , detective drama Magnum PI, Soap Opera Melrose Place and many others also.
In 1984 , he starred in the movie: A Nightmare on Elm street 3: Dream Warriors. He gave an interview in 1987 and spoke of the popularity of the Elm Street Franchise,’ I am intrigued by horror and fantasy-type things because I think it is a way of magnifying some part of the human mind that is exhibited or projected in a highly distorted way
