Spanish Actor Antonio Banderas has been included in the list of the high profile stars who have tested positive for Covid-19. The actor announced the diagnosis on instagram on his 60th birthday.
He also posted a photo of himself as a child and wrote in spanish,“I wanted to make it public that today, 10 August, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday in quarantine, after testing positive for the disease Covid-19, caused by the coronavirus.” He further added that he feels relatively well, but still a bit more tired than usual. He said that he is confident that he will recover from the illness as soon as possible.
The actor shared that he has planned to take advantage of his time in the quarantine period by using it to “read, write, rest and make some plans to give meaning to my 60 years which I reach full with desire and excitement.” He went off by saying . “A big hug to everyone, Antonio Banderas.”
Antonio was nominated for a Tony Award and won a Drama Desk Award for his performance in a US theater debut as Guido Contini in Nine. He also got Primetime Emmy nominations for a television film And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself(2004) and in the second season of Genius(2018). He also earned critical acclaim for his role as Pablo Piccaso. He received an award as Best Actor in Cannes Film Festival for his 2019 film Pain and Glory.
