Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise has sparked a controversy in Bollywood on nepotism. Kangana Ranaut’s video on linking nepotism with Sushant’s death has been supported by many filmmakers and actors of the bollywood. While the #NepotismKilledSushant or #BoycottKaranJoharGang trended on many social media sites. The debate has a long history in the film industry like bollywood.
Sushant had started his career in bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor’s film Kai Po Che. He has acted in Yash Raj film Shudh Desi Romance and Dibaker Banerjee’s Byomkesh Bakshi which had turned him into a popular actor in India. His fame rose after doing MS Dhoni- An untold story and Chhichhore. His career was on a peak after he entered bollywood and worked with many great directors. Only till he was allegedly banned by big production houses like Dharma Productions, Yash Raj , Balaji, Dinesh Vijayan, Sajid Nadiadwala and many more. He was restricted to either work for web series or again for TV serials.
Sushant’s death is a clear sign of the politics and power play by Bollywood’s nepotism gang, which led the young actor towards a drastic step. The successful actor Tapsee Pannu tweeted.’Who’s there to check if one is talented enough for a role and who’s taken on sheer contact basis? It’s more of a conscious call that people should prefer the ‘right’ talent not something that can be put an end to one fine day because of this tragic loss we all went through.’ And many such tweets have come on social media against the deep rotted nepotism in B-Town.
