As prescribed by the doctors, the pandemic coronavirus will be prevented by washing our hands regularly as we go out and touch a contagious surface unknowingly. This requires full attention to our hands movement but do you know frequently washing hands also makes the hands skin dry. In order to keep the skin healthy, one must keep some note in mind.
1- Wash your hands with warm water
Remember to wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. Warm water will keep the hands soft and prevent it from getting dry. While washing, make sure to cover palms, back of hands, fingers,and between fingers, and ginger nails. Don’t use very hot water as it eventually dry the hands
2- Ensure using moisturizing soap
There are soaps which can make your skin dry and cracked, so you should wash your hands with a moisturizing soap. These soaps contain ingredients such as glycerin and lanolin. Also don’t rub the hands aggressively , try to be gentle so as to not to aggravate the skin.
3- Always apply a moisturizer
It is very important to apply a hand cream after you wash your hands with water and soap. This will help to retain the moisture and will provide a protective layer on the hand. They als fill in the small crevices between the scales and soothe the skin.
4- Do wear gloves
You can also soak your hands in plain water for 5 minutes and then apply a moisturizer and wear globes for 1-2 hours. This will bring the surface moisture in hands where it is essentially needed. It’s very effective during windy days and prevents further damage.
