Channing Dungey steps down as vice president of origins content at Netflix. She took the decision to pursue another opportunity. It is being speculated that she might be considering taking the position of Susan Rover as the co-head of Warner Bros. Television and lead original content at NBCUniversal.
Bela Bajaria, vice president of global TV for Netflix,said in a statement, “I’ve known Channing for many years, and it’s been a pleasure working closer with her. “She’s a terrific executive who’s always carved her own path, and although we will miss her, we wish her all the best for the future.”
Before joining Netflix, she was the head of ABC Entertainment in 2018. She was the first Black president of a major broadcast network. She was also the head of the network’s drama development team and looked upon major shows like the hit Shondaland series “Scandal” ,“How to Get Away With Murder, “Quantico,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “American Crime,” and “Once Upon a Time.”
