Indoor movie theatres will be reopening in San Francisco from October 7 after seven months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been permitted to reopen with 25% capacity up to 100 people, with no concessions sold and no outside food or drink consumed.
The city has also allowed indoor dining and places of worship at 25% capacity up to 100 people and will expand the capacity of outdoor places of worship, outdoor political demonstrations and indoor malls.
Los Angeles County is in the top “purple” tier due to its COVID-19 rates being more than seven new daily cases per 100,000 with a positive test rate above 8%.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed said, “We know this continues to be a challenging time with people struggling economically and emotionally. However, thanks to San Francisco’s commitment to following public health guidance, we are seeing improvements in our numbers, which means we can continue to move forward with reopening.”
